Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission Guideline

Each applicant can submit only one abstract for YSA and/or TG, regardless of oral or poster presentation.
Abstracts must be written in English.
Maximum of three hundred (300) words.
Use Microsoft Word format: Times New Roman; font size 11.
No PDFs. Abstracts must be editable to be published in the Abstract Booklet.
Use standard abbreviations. Any special or unusual abbreviations should be written, in brackets, after the full word is first used.
Abstracts should contain only text. No diagrams, figures, pictures, tables or charts should be included.

State whether you prefer an oral or poster presentation. The Organising Committee has the option of altering the type of presentation.
The abstract must start with its presentation title (using capitalisation only on the first letter of major words) and the full first and last name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s). Do not use initials for the first names. (Examples: Albert Smith instead of A. Smith; Catherine D. Jones instead of C. D. Jones; Tai-Man Chen instead of T.-M. Chen). Name the presenting author first and underline.
Full details (title, qualifications, position, organisation/academic affiliation, address and email) of the corresponding author(s) and/or conference presenter to be supplied at the bottom of the abstract. All correspondence will be with the corresponding author(s) and conference presenter if the presenter is not the corresponding author.
The above information is excluded from the 300 word limit.
The abstract should cover the following aspects:
1. Purpose and/or relevance of the information to be presented
2. A brief description of methods, if pertinent
3. A summary of results
4. Statement of conclusions reached
5. A maximum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order and sentence case, separated by semi-colon (e.g. Doping; Horse; Welfare)

The submission deadline is: 15 April 2023.
Abstracts should be emailed to Chantal Gordon Gentil at chantalgg@intnet.mu.
On the subject line state: ICRAV abstract – (presenter’s name) – (full title of abstract).

The submission of YSA and TG application serve the same purpose as call-for-abstract. Applicants are not required to submit their abstract twice. In the abstract, state for YSA / TG / YSA and TG application* [*delete as appropriate].
YSA and/or TG applicants should prepare their abstract(s) using the same formatting as mentioned above and sent (together with other required documents) to Chantal Gordon Gentil at chantalgg@intnet.mu no later than 15 April 2023, except that the email subject line should instead state ICRAV YSA / TG / YSA and TG* – (presenter’s name)- (full title of abstract). [*delete as appropriate]
Abstracts of YSA and TG will also be considered by the scientific programme panel for oral or poster presentation in the 23^rd ICRAV regardless of the application outcome.
